This is the heavyweight champion for science. Apologia Biology does what public schools cannot. Approach evolution, ecology, and genetics as God’s amazing creation. This curriculum truly gives the student an appreciation and understanding of God’s creation alongside scientific principles. The idea I love most about this curriculum is the Christian based scientific knowledge it will equip my student with and give them enough confidence to speak in conversation to others full of knowledge and conviction. Factual and logical conversation skills in faith and science are the ultimate desire of any Christian parent and this intensive course provides just that in addition to full preparation for the ACT and any college-level biology course.
Christian Life Science For Teens
Life sciences are hard! Add secular theories that are taught as facts in a public setting for the majority of a child’s adolescent life and there are a lot of missing pieces to be explained. When you have a full explanation of creation with scientific backing and a relationship with God there becomes no guesswork in science and makes this otherwise difficult subject quite easy to comprehend. This course includes 3 types of lab work including simple household labs the student can complete with basic household supplies, some labs that will require a microscope and blank slides, and a few that will require a dissection kit. We are planning to use the dissection coursework to follow along with several situations that come up on the farm. I’ll spare the gory details but all the information is included in the book that you would need for dissection it’s up to you to source your specimens!
College Level Biology Preparation
The newest version of this curriculum is the 3rd edition so much of the information is being continually updated to make sure the student is getting the most current science concepts. This course is focused heavily on teaching the student how to record, study, and retain information more than ever before because this is the final scientific course to be taken before entry into college-level courses. Apologia does a stellar job of providing thought-provoking information and evidence designed to lead to creative ideas and note-taking that prompt the student to create their own experiments. The goal is to coach the student to experiment in a methodical way giving them the capability to independently complete difficult labs from conception to the interpretation of their results.
Apologia Biology Review Conclusion
Apologia and their Christian science biology course are the most detailed and up to date text available on the market when teaching about genetics, DNA, and evolution. I love that Apologia is consistently updating their coursework to reflect the most recent technologies and scientific findings. Our family has only scratched the surface of this rich curriculum but I am looking forward to using it for years to come with my teenage children. I am looking forward to giving my children a fully comprehensive understanding of life science from plant life, ecology diseases, bacteria & viruses, and the complete chemistry of life from the perspective of our Creator, God. There are no downsides to this science curriculum, I highly recommend any of the Apologia sciences to any family to enrich their students understanding of the physical world around them.
