College Career and Readiness
As we move closer and closer to the age of 18 with our oldest daughter, I find myself second-guessing myself. Have we prepared her enough? Did we provide her with all the skills and tools she will need to conquer the outside world with ease and confidence? Of course, it’s natural as a mother to analyze our actions. Of course, it’s also very savvy to have an expert help make sure to cover all the bases when we are talking about getting our babies ready for the real world. Mr. D Math Live leaves no stone unturned when it comes to math, test preparation, life skills and so much more!
Diverse Online Homeschool Instruction
We signed Julia up for Mr. D Math online College and Readiness Course. She has been homeschooled for many years, and I think it is vital to diversify homeschool student’s instructors at the high school level. Taking courses from teachers other than the parents is crucial because it prompts the student to think outside the same routines and patterns they may be comfortable in from years of homeschooling in the same environment. Technology really partners with the homeschool community in this capacity, offering everything from live sessions to online student forums for instructor and student interaction. Mr. D Math does just that, giving students the ability to log in and take a hands-on style math class or join a self-paced session that covers life skills like 8 Powerful Steps to Study Skills, ACT Prep, College and Career Readiness, American Sign Language, Flamenco dance and even Training Like an Olympic runner!
Positive Peer Review
It is a great benefit to me to have an in-depth and interactive online instructor for my homeschoolers. I love education but it is wonderful to have a fresh set of instruction and courses available. It is especially helpful that she is able to interact with her classmates within Mr.D Math’s online class platform. Engaging and commenting on your peer’s published work is encouraged and a requirement for some of the assignments. Positive peer review is a vital development tool when preparing for the world of college and business and I am so glad this is an element of the College and Career Readiness course.
Mr. D Math Makes Teaching Life Skills Easy
With assignment titles like financial literacy, check writing, intro to Stock Market, researching a company or university, financing a car, and virtual career field trips I KNOW my girl is experiencing real-life first hand through Mr.D Math and the readiness course. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing that this structured course is well thought through and will make sure to cover all the details, even ones I may have forgotten myself. The subject matter I know I have forgotten to cover. Has anyone taught their child how to finance a car? I’m not sure I’m the greatest teacher of that anyhow. I am so thankful for Mr.D Math and his life skills courses. What a relief!
