The Tipis on the Guadalupe I Hill Country Homestead
Staying in a Tipi should be on any explorers bucket list. The Tipis on the Guadalupe offers travelers the opportunity to tap into indigenous roots without sacrificing luxuries like air conditioning and appliances. The tipis are one big room with three large beds inside. While this setting is absolutely suited for large families and groups, we were able to enjoy it as a couples trip. We love activities like fly fishing, wildlife photography, and yoga and that’s exactly what we did here.
The Tipis on the Guadalupe are located between New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, and Gruene, Texas. What more could you need? We spent our first day there dining at the Grist Mill, shopping for earrings at The Pomegranate and stopping in at Gruene River Outfitters for fly bait. I collect feathers when we are at home, so I brought them with me and made them part of my hairdo while we stayed in the Tipis, for cultural relevance, of course.
River access to the lower Guadalupe is just one of the highlights of this unique getaway. The water is a beautiful blue-green, cool and crisp, and the scenery is picturesque. The slower pace of life on the river banks is evident with boats and docks lining the shore and several fishermen spotted in the distance.
Private access to the pristine waters of the Lower Guadalupe River allow for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The pricing of the Tipis is VERY budget-friendly and boat & tube rentals are available!
Our time inside the Tipi was filled with peace, reflection, and relaxation! The Tipi's on the Guadalupe serves as a great couples getaway; however, the Tipi interior is designed to host a larger group or family. Everyone sleeps in the same room, so you have to be close! We would definitely recommend a stay here, especially because of the price!
